Support Small Business SaturdayThe ongoing economic challenges have shed
light on the importance of the small business community. Are you ready for the 2nd annual Small Business Saturday on November 26? American
Express had a great idea with this Shop Small campaign. Small businesses need the support and encouragement,
they could use the business activity, as well. Small businesses
have an impact on the economy and bring value to their immediate community. We seem to be more aware of that today. Serving
neighbors’ needs, creating jobs, often donating cash and products to nonprofits, and facilitating mutually beneficial
exchange are just a few benefits small businesses provide. Owners also offer hope and serve as an example to others through
their optimism, calculated risk-taking, and sacrifice.
Use
Small Business Saturday to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit that forges ahead during difficult situations. Use
it to acknowledge the efforts of calculated risk-takers and those willing to work tirelessly to accomplish their vision and
goals.
When small business is supported, a local family, neighbor, and your immediate community reap
the benefits. Reward merchants if you are served well by patronizing their businesses and telling friends
about their service or product. By committing to be their word-of-mouth cheerleader, you help ensure they remain in business
for your next visit.
November 26 is Small Business Saturday, choose your local business and make your
purchase(s) ... shop small.
We all know California has lost numerous corporate
jobs to other states and countries. It is especially beneficial to support small businesses in our Golden State.

Thanksgiving Project TipsThis is a great time to learn
some basics about
project management and getting things done.
Thanksgiving is next week, which means deadlines, budgets,
and expectations need to be met. You may already be sweating just thinking about it.
Ask a few simple
questions: - What is your food budget?
- What tasks need to be done?
- How many people
are helping and how many will you be feeding?
Then, assign tasks to those helping and
communicate their role clearly. Make adjustments next week, as needed.
Check in with helpers a few times to make
sure everything is going as planned...my clients especially appreciate this one!
Then,
enjoy your family, friends, serving and most of all...be thankful. You did it!
